Week 3 Day 4

I spent yesterday and today doing follow up and contacting businesses. Not good days for me! This is definitely my weak point, I just feel like I'm bothering people when I call them back. I know I have something very positive to offer, but it doesn't translate in my conversation.
Contacting businesses is also not my cup of tea. I understand that it may be easier for some, but I have to feel a real connection to the cause. It's just too much like sales. I had to take an aptitude test once when I worked for a Fortune 100 company. They were looking for female managers in sales. I scored so low on that test that they must have thought I was dead.
I am going back to focusing on non profits and local people. I need to get my positive energy flowing again! I'll find a way.

  1. You need to do what is comfortable for you, although stepping somewhat out of your comfort zone, will accomplish great things. I have to tell you that although I contact my 5 every day, before I start I am really nervous and don't really want to do it. I convince my self that this is my job and I have agreed to find 5 a day. I am so goal oriented, that I just can't just get 4. You will find the way that is best for you. Concentrate on all the positive things you have in your life and the things you will have when you meet your MPM goals. Be thankful that you have MPM.

  2. Andrea - you are so strong and we each have inner strengths that we're not even aware of yet but you (we) do need to feel comfortable with what we're doing so just continue being yourself:)

It's Even worse on the recieving end ,when people are being polite by listening.
MPM has become a sales pitch, not a free program. We're just running around in circles here!

I'm so sorry for you .
But your still a nice lady.

  4. Remember to carry within you that you DO have something to offer someone else. You are not a bother or a salesperson. You're just another person who is desirous of meeting a need or want for a person or a business. Remember that businesses are used to many people coming into their place of business --- sales, advertising, phone books, charity requests. They will be happy that you are not pushing something on them, or demanding anything. You are giving them an opportunity, and the best part is they get to make the choice about whether they want MPM or not, etc.

  5. Hi Andrea,

Do what comes naturally to you! We are offering different options so you can do what is right for you. You're such a natural in contacting anyone in the world. Keep your focus there! Follow up on all the contacts you've made. If you add some business owners in, great, if not - do what works for YOU!

You are so incredible when you share from your passion... :)

  6. Keep focusing on your vision! It WILL HAPPEN! As far as sales pitch or running in circles??? I know we are not selling anything, but maybe an idea of making a difference in our community and our world. I guess, I could call it running in circles when I go out and get contacts and work them to nothing happening for awhile. But, some will come around and see this as a means to get through these hard times. and then eventually, we will get others to come and join. A domino effect. It will be a house hold name, IF we do our job! Job??? It does not feel like it is work most of the time. This Is a good thing we are putting out there and we should not feel embarrassed or ashamed or feel like we are imposing. I do have the same thoughts at first, then when I pick that phone up or start a conversation with someone on the street, it just feels right. If they don't see it, Next! and I will show them it again another time. YOU can Do it!!!!

  7. Andrea, you know your strength already and you should stick with what works for you. We have to come up with other options because not everyone is as comfortable with talking to local people. Get back to what you do best and I can't wait to see the energy back again too.
